Favourite Luxury Brand: Ted Baker

So on Saturday, Lee and I went Christmas shopping and ended up in House of Fraser. As we were looking around, I was drawn to the Ted Baker counter - as always. I was in awe at all the beautiful bags and purses I was seeing. (Unfortunately, my closest TB store is 40 minutes away so I was limited with selection.) I have longed for a Ted Baker purse now for ages - at least 2 years. So, that night I found myself scrolling down the Ted Baker website and created myself a wish list. I then thought, "Let me share this wishlist with you - what a fab idea!"

RHINDI Metallic Leather Matinee Purse. £89
As I've already said, I have wanted a Ted Baker purse for the longest time, and I just find them so gorgeous and delicate. This one is in a silver colour with the stunning, little bobble clasp to close it. What I love about this purse, is the metallic finish on the front panel giving it a lovely shimmer. This is definitely a purse I will be keeping my eyes on.

MAYCII Two-Tone Leather Matinee Purse. £79
This is a really unique purse with a beautiful two-tone design. The front panel is a really pale, dull pink, and the back panel of the purse a pale turquoise colour. This purse, again, has the lovely bobble clasp adding such an elegant and sophisticated touch to the purse.

ELDEN Scallop Edge Small Wash Bag. £27
Going by the price, this TB piece is on the more affordable side. The colour of this is gorgeous - I think mid purple is my favourite colour of the Ted Baker products. It's just such a gorgeous, delicate colour. The scallop edge adds a lovely detail which isn't too overwhelming - the bow on the front does the same, and the little buckle of gold on the bow makes the bag look so neat and sophisticated.

NISSIE Cut-Out Leather Ankle Boots. £160
Now, don't be too shocked by my next wishlist item isn't a purse - it's a pair of boots! Now, I never really was much of a boot girl, but since purchasing a pair in H&M not too long ago, I now can't stop looking at boots. These ones are gorgeous, with the incredible gold statement buckle and the suede detailing on the back. The heel isn't too high either which would make them suitable for everyday wear.

LOTTE Exotic Panel Cross Body Bag. £159
I love the colour of this bag more than anything. Grey is one of my favourite colours, and this bag is right up my alley. The croc design on the front makes this bag look a lot more expensive than it is, and the whole look and structure of the bag is really sleek and neat. This bag is definitely going to be something I keep on my wishlist (probably for a long time!)

Wedding | 16th July 2016

Firstly, I apologise for the absence, I haven't had a laptop to blog for 10 days now and was so buys before the wedding that I didn't have time to scedule some posst!
Secondly, as you read the title, you probably thought "married?!". No, not me - my mum. My mum got married on the 16th July 2016 to my stepdad and it was one of the best days so far this year! I failed majorly at taking photos as I just didn't think of it but many people took photos so they're the ones I'll attach in this post.

So we went to the hotel on the Friday (15th) and that's where we'd stay until the Sunday! The whole wedding was held at the hotel. On the Friday night, we had a meal with all our family and closest friends who were staying at the hotel, being about 15 of us. On the Saturday morning, we got up really early to shower and wash hair for the hair and make-up ladies to arrive at 9am. Once we were all looking slightly better with hair and make-up done, we got changed and got the day done with and everything went very good! With a disco at the end of the night which was super fun and hilarious, it rounded off a really, really good day! Safe to say, I slept VERY well that night after being on my feet for about 18 hours!
Here are some photos from the day: (P.s. I would make all the photos square but some won't fit so all photos are different sizes, sorry!)

My Favourite Bloggers June 2016

I haven't really done a blog post like this before as I have so many favourite bloggers and if I wrote a blog post about them all, it'd be almost a mile long! But I've decided that every month or so, I will talk about my 3 favourite bloggers that I'm loving that month!

Her photos are the most incredible quality and are so well took, Her blog posts in terms of writing are always so well written and are so informative when it comes to reviews. Victoria comes across as such a lovely, down to earth lady in her videos and it would be such a dream to meet her one day! Victoria is definitely my role model and who I aspire to be like in the blogging world.

Alex Rooke - alexrooke.com
Alex is honestly one of the loveliest people I have come across whilst in my first 3 months of blogging! Her blog posts are so incredibly written and well planned. Alex never fails to disappoint when she tweets that a new blog post has gone live. She also has a lovely, simple layout on her blog which is easy to navigate around and looks amazing! Alex is absolutely stunning and one of the most genuine girls I have spoken to whilst blogging, I couldn't recommend her blog enough!

Let's Talk About: Panic Attacks

'Let's Talk About' is going to be my new series of posts about mental health. I'm going to aim to write a post once every two weeks for this series.

Anyway, today's post is going to be about panic attacks. There seems to be a real stigma around anxiety and panic attacks and people living with panic disorder have to learn to live with the stigma surrounding the mental illness.

Let me give you a little information about panic attacks:

What is a panic attack?
A panic attack is an exaggeration of your body's normal response to fear, stress or excitement. It is the rapid build-up of overwhelming physical sensations, such as:

  • A pounding heartbeat
  • Feeling faint
  • Sweating
  • Nausea
  • Chest pains
  • Feeling unable to breathe
  • Shaking limbs
  • Feeling like you're not connected to your body
When do panic attacks happen?
It's different for different people. You might have a good understanding about likely situations or places that can trigger an attack for you, or they may come suddenly and randomly.

Night time panic attacks
Panic attacks can also happen at night due to your brain being alert (due to anxiety) and can wake you up. This can be quite a frightening experience as you are confused at what's happening and wouldn't be able to know it was going to happen.

How long do panic attacks last for?
Most last between 5-20 minutes. Symptoms usually peak within 10 minutes. Sometimes, you can experience symptoms of a panic attack which last for up to an hour.

How often will you experience a panic attack?
It's different for everyone. Some people may only experience one in their lifetime, but others may have attacks once a month or several times a week.

So, what can you do about panic attacks?
The first thing is to keep your anxiety under control as much as possible. I have written a blog post about dealing with anxiety that you can read here. There is also medication that is available for anxiety sufferers that can help keep it under control.

This was not a long, advice post but it gives you a bit of a background to panic attacks and panic disorders.

Dealing with Anxiety

Anxiety has played a big part in my life now for the past 4 years. The only thing that I can recall would have set it off was being verbally bullied and cyber bullied in my first year of secondary school. I've managed to keep it under control throughout the rest of my secondary school life, along with many panic attacks along the way. But now, as I'm approaching exam season, my anxiety has seemed to have got a lot worse, and I now have been moved from the main exam hall and do my exams in a separate room due to panics before the exams.

I thought it would be good to share a few of my own personal tips on how I manage my anxiety when I am feeling the most anxious. These tips work for me, but might not necessarily work for others, as everyone has their own calming regimes.

1. Have a breathing exercise fit to you.
There are a lot of breathing exercises you can find on the Internet on Pinterest and Google Images, that give you recommended breathing routines to help you calm and not hyperventilate. I highly recommend having a breathing routine for when you are at your most anxious, as this really helps me. Everyone is their own person, so I recommend searching around to find one that is fit for you.

2. Take your mind off things.
Whether that be to write a blog post about something you love, doing drawings in a colouring book or having a long bubble bath. Distracting yourself from feeling anxious by making yourself busy really helps. I find this definitely works best for me. Because you're distracting yourself, you're thinking about the thing you're doing, rather than the thing that is making you anxious.

3. Talk and vent to someone you trust.
Talking to someone you trust can really help calm yourself down. By telling someone your worries, you can also get reassurance which is helpful for when you're thinking it isn't going to get any better.

4. Go for a walk or run.
Physical exercise can really help clearing your mind from worries and anxious thoughts. Going for a walk or a run in the fresh air gives you time to think things over that you may be worrying about, removing yourself from everyday stress.

5. Keeping a diary.
This is definitely a good idea. Keeping track of when you get anxious, what you get anxious about, and what happens when you get anxious can really help you to spot patterns and spot triggers of these experiences so you can work out how to deal or prevent them.

6. Sticking to a healthy diet.
Cut out caffeine. Not entirely but if you drink a lot of it daily, this could be a cause of feeling anxious. Caffeine can make your heart beat a lot faster that usual. Other stimulants like alcohol and cigarettes are not good for anxiety.

7. Listen to some music.
Popping in your earphones and listening to your favourite songs can really help to relax. It lets you escape from your life stresses and worries for a short period of time, giving you a chance to calm down or think some things through.

I hope these tips helped hopefully a few of you.

If you would like me to do more mental health posts, do let me know as I love writing about them to hopefully help some people and be able to talk to some people about similar things.
I have a board on Pinterest linked HERE with breathing exercises and just general ways to stay calm during anxious times or a panic attack.

Let's Talk About: Anaemia

For a very long time now, I have struggled with tiredness and lack of energy. Probably for longer now than I can remember. It's not as bad now but for the past year or so, my tiredness and energy just had hit rock bottom. It got to the stage where I couldn't concentrate at school, I would zone out constantly because I just had no energy and I struggled to get out of bed in the mornings (what most teenagers struggle with). My teachers were highly concerned as all my grades were dropping majorly. My anxiety did play a large part in exams, as I don't do exams in the hall because of my anxiety. But my mum decided enough was enough, and took me to the doctors. After 4 samples of blood were sent off to the hospital for testing, the results came back.

The doctors had tested me for multiple conditions that would cause tiredness and lack of energy like thyroid problems, lack of vitamin D and anaemia - just to name a few. Every result came back negative, however my iron levels came back very low. My doctor said that normal iron levels are supposed to be anywhere between 10 and 300, and mine were 15. This was the reason I was so tired.

Now, my iron levels are within the normal region, however, as I've had major problems with my periods in the past years and been on multiple medications for the blood (TMI sorry!), the doctors have said that I am in a lot of danger of becoming anaemic pretty soon if I don't look after myself.

Being a vegetarian, it's hard to get all the iron I need from fish and red meat, however I try to get as much egg, beans, dried fruit and rice into my diet as possible. My tiredness and energy levels haven't seem to have improved a lot recently since my blood test but with medication for my periods and a diet with iron incorporated as much as possible, I hope to get better in time!

This was a lot more personal post than what I would usually do but I hope you don't mind!
