My Current Skincare Routine

Hi everyone. Today, I wanted to share my current skincare routine, more specifically my routine in the evening. Over the past few weeks, I made quite a few orders to several websites so I've been trying out different products since lockdown started, and I've now found a routine that my skin likes, and it makes my skin so smooth and hydrated. My skin is always quite hard to cater for as I have combination skin, so some areas are oily and others can become quite dry.

The cleanser I'm currently using is the Revolution Cleansing Jelly. This is a really gentle, cleanser with blueberry and goji berry extract which makes it smell amazing! I used this day and night usually, but often rotate between my other Revolution Cleansing Milk Jelly and my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (I try to use this as little as possible as its the limited edition one and smells too good to use up).

I apply this cleanser to dry skin and rub it in, and once it's all foamed up, I add a little bit of water and  foam it up even more. I use my Face Halo or just a face cloth to remove with hot water and then pat my face dry with a towel. I also use this Revolution fluffy headband to keep my hair out of face whilst doing my skincare.

I use the Pixi Glow Tonic as my toner and I love this stuff. This toner contains an AHA called Glycolic Acid which exfoliates the outermost layer of dead skin increasing the luminosity of the skin.  Since buying the mini version in Paris last May, I've already been through a couple of these toners. I just pop a little bit on a cotton pad and sweep it across my face.

I then use the Nip + Fab Dragons Blood Fix Plumping Serum. I only purchased this around a month ago but I've been absolutely loving it, and even bought the extreme version of this too! This product contains ingredients for absorbing excess oil, and hyaluronic acid which hydrates and refines skin texture. I've noticed a huge difference since using this product in how smooth and soft my skin has been. I only use this at night usually but I find that's enough for my skin.

As a second serum, I've been absolutely obsessed with the Boots glow essence from their new range - blog post here! This stuff smells so good I've already ordered 2 more so I don't run out anytime soon!! This stuff adds such a lovely glow to the skin and I used it day and night, and use it under my makeup too before I moisturise. I just use a few drops on the cheeks and forehead and rub it in, wiping the excess on my neck.

The moisturiser I've been using in the evening is the L'Oreal Hydra Genius moisturiser for combination skin. This moisturiser is so hydrating and contains aloe water and hyaluronic acid. I've been using this moisturiser in the evening as it doesn't contain SPF, and the Revolution one I use in the day has SPF 30. I've only had this moisturiser for a couple of weeks but I'm already obsessed with it.

The eye cream I've been loving recently is the Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack Turbo-Boost Gel. This gel tackles the appearance of tired eyes, firms, tones and rehydrates. There is an added plus-caffeine complex which is known to help reduce the appearance of puffiness around the eyes. I've been using this in morning and evening, and it's been really helping the puffiness around my eyes in the morning after waking up. I've been switching up between this eye gel and my No7 eye cream.

And that's my evening skincare routine!

I hope you enjoying reading this post and I hope this has given some inspiration for trying new products for your skin!

New Boots GLOW Skincare Range

So Boots have recently come out with a new range of skincare, called the Glow range. I wanted to try this out the second it was put on the website so I made an order. Obviously due to the circumstances in the world at the moment, it took a little longer for the order to arrive. But it did arrive this week, and I've been so excited to try the products and to write this blog post all about them! Every product in this post cost only £4 each, which is amazing for people on a budget. Me being the idiot I am, I completely forgot to order the tonic, and I deliberately didn't order the oil as I have oily skin anyway, so these are 6 of the 8 products available in the new range.

This cream is said to be a 'lightweight cream that hydrates, brightens and smooths skin giving a glowing complexion, to prep skin.'
This cream is lovely on the skin. I would definitely recommend using it at night rather than in the morning as it is quite thick and left a little bit of residue on my skin, which I removed when I washed my face in the morning. It was incredibly moisturising, made my skin feel amazing and definitely gave it the glow it said it would.

This eye cream 'refreshes and rehydrates, whilst also soothing skin around the eyes for a more revitalised, brighter look.'
This is a lovely eye cream, really hydrating and sinks into the skin so quickly and effectively. However, I wouldn't say it was one of the best eye creams I've ever used. I usually use the No7 eye cream or the Soap & Glory Puffy-Eye Attack eye gel, and I would still favour those over this one. It's not a bad cream by any means, but I didn't find it to make much of a difference to under my eyes like the others have. I will continue to use it and see if my opinion changes on it.

This gel mask 'works intensely to moisturise, giving you brighter and more radiant looking skin.'
Both myself and Lee tried this out the other day and we both absolutely loved it. The gel was cooling and soothing on the skin and left my skin feeling so cleansed and soft afterwards. We left the mask on for 15 minutes and then washed it off and I did the rest of my skincare routine. This mask can be used 2-3 times a week so is good for more frequent cleansing.

This essence is said to 'energise, hydrate and refresh skin, to leave skin looking brighter and feeling plumped with moisture.'
Firstly, this smells AMAZING. I've been using this every morning and every night and it has made my skin feel so good and so soft. It's amazing to use before makeup as it leaves such a pretty glow on the skin. It also leaves your skin slightly tacky too, which is great for when applying makeup as it makes it grip well. I am definitely going to be ordering more of these for backups for when this one runs out! This is definitely my favourite product out of all the ones I purchased.

The cleansing stick 'melts away make-up and nourishes and hydrates skin to give a healthy looking glow.'
I used this the other day to remove my makeup after a day at work. I had a significant amount of makeup on, including eyeshadow, waterproof mascara and high coverage concealer. I rubbed this cleansing stick all over my face and it melted away all my makeup instantly, then I added a little water and rubbed it in to my skin, and then removed with my Face Halo. After I was finished with the stick, I just wiped it over with a cotton pad to make sure there was no make-up left on it. The only negative I have about this is it was very, very waxy and I found it hard to remove with just water as I felt this didn't mix well with water, so I had to wash my face with a face wash to remove all the residue properly. Other than that, it does exactly what it says it does.

This brightening 'microfine mist refreshes and brightens skin tone, leaving it feeling hydrated and looking radiant.'
I've only just began getting into sprays like setting sprays and I am absolutely loving this. I only use this at night as I have a separate spray I like using in the morning for setting my makeup. I do my whole skincare routine at night and then use this spray lastly to give my skin one last spritz of hydration before going to bed. It leaves my skin feeling intensely hydrated and gives a lovely glow to the skin.

Will you be trying this range out? What's your favourite product(s) from the new range?
Thank you for reading!

Revolution Beauty Haul

So a couple of weeks ago, I took full advantage of the Revolution 3 for 2 offer on their website. There were many products I had been looking at for a while so there wasn't really a better time to make a purchase. I've had a bit of time to use the products and test them out to let you know what I think and whether they are worth the purchase or not.

I'll start by talking about the skincare products I picked up. Revolution are known for their affordable, but effective skincare products so I wanted to try them for myself.

I picked up the Revolution Skincare Hydrating Watermelon Eye Gel as I love anything gels, and I love the scent of watermelon. I won't lie, I was pretty disappointed with this. It smells very strong of chemicals rather than watermelon, and for something going so close to my eyes, it's not something I particularly liked. I have some other eye creams and gels which I would use in favour of this so I probably won't use this.
I got the Moisture Cream SPF30 for Normal/Oily Skin as this cream has a high SPF so perfect for in the summer to protect your face when the sun is a lot stronger and brighter. This cream is amazing - I put it on every morning, either on its own or under my makeup and it works really well. It smells like suncream which is don't mind the smell of but just a heads up if you don't.
The next thing I purchased was one of their serums, the Targeted Blemish Serum 2% Salicylic Acid. I have always suffered with blemishes on my skin so thought I'd try this out. I haven't noticed a massive difference yet but I'm going to give it some more time.
The final skincare product I picked up was the Never Basic Starter Pack Collection which includes 3 different skincare solutions - 0.2% Retinol, 2% Hyaluronic Acid and 10% Niacinamide + 1% Zinc. Each solution targets specific areas and concerns of the skin, so I bought the little ones to see which ones worked for me before I bought the big bottle. I find these solutions quite oily on my skin, as I have naturally oily skin anyway, so these would be good for people with drier skin.

In terms of makeup, I picked up 5 items in my purchase.

The first product I picked up was the Revolution X Petra XOXO Contour and Highlight Face Palette. I didn't originally set out to buy this, but when I saw the shades I instantly added it to my basket. The shades are perfect for people with lighter skin tones like myself, and I have been using this more than I thought it would. Definitely worth the money in my opinion, and amazing packaging!
I also picked up the new Revolution Soap Styler for your brows. I have seen so many brands advertising their version of this, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on it. After having my brows laminated back in February, I loved the way they look and wanted to keep this look when the lamination went. This soap styler really does work, and with it being in a compact, it's brilliant for travelling or taking with you to top up in the day.
I picked up the new Universal Pressed Powder from their Infinite collection. This translucent powder in a compact is perfect for taking on the go and mattifying the face throughout the day. The fact the compact also has a mirror is a massive bonus. I find this powder really finely milled and literally melts into the skin.
From I Heart Revolution, I picked up their Dewy Watermelon Setting Spray. Unlike the eye gel previously in this post, this setting spray smells amazing and so strong of watermelon! This spray really hydrates the face after makeup and sets your makeup ready for the day.
The final makeup product I got was the I Heart Revolution Heartbreakers Highlighter in the shade Unique. This highlighter is beautiful, and isn't too shimmery. It leaves a really nice sheen on the skin which isn't too 'in-your-face' (of course, unless you like that look, I just don't suit it).

Thank you for reading my blog post. Please let me know what your favourite product or products are from my haul and what types of posts you'd like to see in the future.
